The Federal Government has proposed a harmonised national examination timetable for 2027, following a meeting between the Honourable Minister of State for Education (HMSE), examination bodies and representatives of private schools
The resolutions were reached at a meeting held on September 30, 2026, focusing on the harmonisation of examination schedules and teacher qualification requirements for schools seeking approval as examination centres.
According to the communiqué issued after the meeting, the proposed timetable covers major examinations including the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), NABTEB and NBAIS.
