The LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (LASUSTECH) has officially commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its Pre-Degree Programme for the 2026/2027 Academic Session
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into the University’s Arts, Engineering, Science, and Social Sciences Pre-Degree Programme. The programme is specifically designed to prepare candidates academically for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)while improving their chances of securing admission into LASUSTECH’s undergraduate degree programmes.
Successful candidates who meet the University’s admission requirements after completing the programme will be eligible for consideration for admission into the institution’s 100-Level degree programmes.
ABOUT THE LASUSTECH PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME
The LASUSTECH Pre-Degree Programme is a comprehensive nine-month remedial programmestructured to strengthen students’ academic foundation before gaining admission into the University.
The programme runs from October to July and is divided into two academic semesters.
It provides intensive coaching in relevant subjects required for UTME and O’Level examinations, helping candidates improve their academic performance and qualify for undergraduate admission.
The programme is available in the following fields:
- Arts
- Engineering
- Science
- Social Sciences
WHO CAN APPLY?
Applications are open to candidates who meet the following requirements:
1. Candidates with Five O’Level Credits
Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes obtained in not more than two sittings.
The required subjects include:
- English Language
- Mathematics (for Science and Social Science courses)
- Three other relevant subjects depending on the intended course of study.
Science-Based Courses
Candidates must have credits in:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Biology
- Physics
- Chemistry or other relevant science subjects.
Social Science Courses
Candidates should possess credits in:

- Government

AWAITING RESULT CANDIDATES CAN ALSO APPLY
One of the major advantages of the LASUSTECH Pre-Degree Programme is that candidates who are awaiting their WAEC or NECO results are also eligible to apply.
Such candidates are expected to upload their results once released before the completion of the programme.
CANDIDATES WITH DEFICIENCIES CAN STILL APPLY
Candidates who currently have at least three (3) O’Level credits but are deficient in some required subjects may also apply.
Eligible subjects include:

- Biology
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Economics
- Government
- Literature-in-English
- Accounting
- CRS/IRS
- Other relevant subjects.
Applicants in this category are expected to register for WAEC and/or NECO and obtain the outstanding credit passes before the completion of the Pre-Degree programme.
AVAILABLE FACULTIES
Successful candidates may eventually gain admission into undergraduate programmes within the following faculties:
- Faculty of Arts
- Faculty of Engineering
- Faculty of Science
- Faculty of Social Sciences
Admission into any programme will depend on meeting all University admission requirements.
QUALIFYING EXAMINATION
Candidates who satisfy the admission requirements will be invited to participate in a written qualifying examination.
Only applicants who successfully pass the qualifying examination and meet all stipulated conditions will proceed in the programme.
Applicants are therefore advised to prepare adequately for the screening exercise.
ADMISSION INTO 100 LEVEL AFTER THE PROGRAMME
Completion of the Pre-Degree Programme alone does not automatically guarantee admission.
To qualify for admission into the University’s undergraduate programmes, candidates must:
- Successfully complete the LASUSTECH Pre-Degree Programme.
- Register and sit for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Obtain the University’s Minimum Tolerable Score (MTS) in the UTME.
- Meet the admission requirements for their chosen course.
- Possess all required O’Level credits.
Only candidates who satisfy these conditions will be considered for admission into the University’s 100-Level degree programmes.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
The LASUSTECH Pre-Degree Programme runs for:
- Nine (9) Months
The programme commences in October and ends in July, spanning two semesters.
