The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a strong warning to candidates against tampering with or manipulating SMS results obtained from its official platforms (55019 and 66019) in a bid to falsify scores and mislead others.
In a statement, the Board emphasized that altering or fabricating UTME results whether to deceive parents, guardians, or the public constitutes a serious criminal offence and will be treated with utmost severity.
JAMB disclosed that enforcement actions are already underway, revealing that two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for allegedly engaging in result falsification using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.
The Board reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward examination malpractice and any related misconduct, stressing that all offenders will face the full consequences of the law if found guilty.
Meanwhile, JAMB confirmed that the 2026 UTME is still ongoing across the country, with results being released in phases as they become available.
