Nigeria's Federal Government has declared Thursday 19 March and Friday 20 March 2026 as public holidays to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, as shown in the post's official seal image.

The dates align with the tentative lunar calendar for 2026, where Eid falls on 20 March based on moon sighting, to mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, which signifies the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement by Dr Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, on Tuesday.
