A tragic accident on the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo State has left many families in tears as several students, who were on their way to write the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), are feared dead.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning, April 26.

Eyewitnesses at the scene explained that the crash occurred when the commercial vehicle carrying the candidates to a JAMB centre in Ogbomoso suffered a brake failure.

The vehicle lost control, leading to the fatal accident.

A video circulating online, captioned “Fatal accident claimed the life of the students who were going to write JAMB in Ogbomoso on Oyo road, Oyo State,”  showed the devastating scene, with sympathisers lamenting the loss of young lives.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer for Oyo State Command, Adewale Osifeso, for confirmation were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or messages.
