Osun State Governor and Visitor to Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Senator Ademola Adeleke, has approved a two-year extension of the tenure of the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye.

The announcement was made on Monday, August 31, 2026, during the inauguration of the reconstituted UNIOSUN Governing Council at the Osun State Government House in Osogbo.

The extension is aimed at ensuring continuity in the administration of the university and preventing a leadership vacuum as the institution continues to record developments in its academic and administrative operations.

Governor Adeleke also charged the reconstituted Governing Council to strengthen the university’s governance and support its continued growth.

The development means Professor Adebooye will continue to serve as Vice-Chancellor for an additional two years.
