The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially resumed the disbursement of monthly upkeep allowances to eligible student beneficiaries across the country.
FAS REPORTS can confirm that as of Thursday, July 16, 2026, students have started receiving credit alerts, marking the resumption of the long-awaited upkeep payments.
The latest development follows earlier assurances from the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Akinteye Babatunde (BABTEE), who disclosed that the payment process would commence this week after the completion of upgrades to the NELFUND payment platform.
The disbursement is expected to continue in phases, with beneficiaries from various institutions receiving their allowances based on the payment schedule and banking processes.
Students who are yet to receive payment are advised to remain patient and continue monitoring their bank accounts, as the rollout is ongoing.
