Lead City University (LCU), Ibadan, has officially commenced its admission exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session. The institution is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for its Post-UTME screening, offering access to over 200 accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Driven by its motto, “Knowledge for Self-Reliance,” the university boasts state-of-the-art facilities, experienced faculty, and a vibrant campus community across various fields, including Engineering, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts, Education, Communication, and Technology.
Admission Requirements and Entry Pathways
Lead City University has outlined multiple entry pathways to accommodate various academic backgrounds:
1. UTME Candidates
Minimum Score: A minimum UTME score of 160 is required.
O’Level Credits: At least five relevant O’Level credits (GCE O/L, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or equivalent), including English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.
Note: Candidates who did not originally choose Lead City University in their UTME application are eligible to apply and can be considered for admission.
2. Direct Entry (Part II / 200 Level Admission)
Candidates seeking admission without a UTME score can apply via Direct Entry. This category is open to holders of:
GCE ‘A’ Levels, IJMB, JUPEB, NCE, OND, or University Diplomas.
3. Pre-Degree Programmes (IJMB / JUPEB)
Candidates who did not sit for the UTME are advised to apply for the university’s IJMB/JUPEB pre-degree programmes. These do not require UTME scores. Upon successful completion, candidates can proceed directly into the 200 Level via Direct Entry. These certificates are fully recognized by JAMB for admission into Nigerian or foreign universities.
4. Degree Conversion Programmes
A specialized 2-year conversion programme is available for individuals holding University Degrees, HNDs, ACAs, or equivalent qualifications looking to upgrade or pivot their certifications.
Method of Application for Undergraduate Programmes
Prospects can complete their application online through a simplified four-step process:
Visit the APPLICATION PORTAL to create an admission account and verify the registered email address.
Complete the online application form in four stages.
Submit the form alongside a non-refundable processing fee of Ten Thousand Three Hundred Naira Only (N10,300.00).
Await institutional processing. Successful applicants will be contacted directly by the university.
