The management of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo, has prohibited students from participating in the activities of an organisation known as NEOLIFE, citing alleged illegal operations and harmful practices.
In an internal memorandum issued by the Students’ Affairs Division and dated January 7, 2026, the university accused the group of recruiting students into its business and engaging in activities described as humiliating and detrimental to students’ academic progress.
The memo also alleged that students who attempted to withdraw from the organisation faced harassment and intimidation.
According to the directive, all students are to immediately cease working with NEOLIFE and stop recruiting fellow students both on and off campus.
The management warned that any student caught engaging with or recruiting for the organisation after the notice will face disciplinary action.
Current members of NEOLIFE within the university have been given until January 30, 2026, to resign their membership.
The university also advised affected students to contact the Dean of Students’ Affairs (DSA) office for support and assistance.
The memo, signed by Wole Akinlabi, PhD, stated that the university will no longer tolerate involvement in NEOLIFE-related activities and announced measures to identify and sanction erring students.
