The University of Ilorin has taken disciplinary action against 13 students for various acts of misconduct, following recommendations from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC) at its 227th meeting on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
According to letters sent to the affected students, copies of which were obtained on Monday, December 22, 2025, six students have been expelled, six rusticated for one academic session, and one student formally warned.
The six expelled students are Abdulhafeez Abdulhammed (Educational Technology, Faculty of Education), Esther Ajuma Matthew (Human Kinetics, Faculty of Education), Divine Tijesunimi Stanislous (Human Kinetics, Faculty of Education), Qozeem Abdulateef Mohammed (Centre for Open and Distance Learning), Sormidat Oluwatosin Lawal (Health Education, Faculty of Education), and Doris Comfort Falusi (History & International Studies, Faculty of Arts).
The expelled students were instructed to immediately surrender all University property, including their identity cards, and were barred from accessing the campus. They were informed of their right to appeal the decision to the University Council through their respective deans.
Six other students were rusticated for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. They include Idowu Oluwadamilola Owoade (Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology), Quayum Damilare Aderibigbe (Finance, Faculty of Management Sciences), Onimisi Abdulmajeed Aliyu (Quantity Survey, Faculty of Environmental Sciences), Emmanuel Olayeni (Water Resources, Faculty of Engineering & Technology), Sulton Abidemi Salman (Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture), and Faruq (Finance, Faculty of Management Sciences).
The rusticated students were required to submit all University property and stay off campus until the 2026/2027 Academic Session, when they must present written evidence of rehabilitation from a recognized medical center certified by the Director of University Health Services.
One student, Isaac Chuks Okoh (Science Education, Faculty of Education), received a formal warning, with the university cautioning that any repeat of misconduct would attract stiffer disciplinary measures. The student was also instructed to report to the Student Affairs Unit to complete the disciplinary process.
