*NUC Approves Four New Full-Time Programmes for LASU*
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially approved the introduction of four new full-time academic programmes at Lagos State University (LASU), effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.
The newly accredited courses are:
1. *Cyber Security*
2. *Software Engineering*
3. *Information and Communication Technology (ICT)*
4. *Data Science*
The approval follows a rigorous resource verification exercise conducted by NUC-appointed experts, who assessed the university’s academic and infrastructural preparedness to offer these specialised programmes. The successful outcome of this exercise confirms LASU’s capacity to deliver quality instruction and training in these critical fields.
This development marks a significant milestone for LASU as it continues to expand its academic portfolio and strengthen its position as a leader in technology-driven education in Nigeria. The introduction of these programmes aligns with global trends and responds to the growing demand for highly skilled professionals in digital technology and innovation.
Prospective students and stakeholders are encouraged to take full advantage of these newly introduced programmes, which are expected to open up numerous academic and career opportunities in Nigeria’s evolving digital economy.
