This notice is to inform stakeholders that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Federal University Dutse Branch, has commenced a 14-day strike action, effective from midnight (12:01 a.m.) on Monday, 13th October, 2025, in compliance with the directive of the National Executive Council of ASUU.
All academic activities — including teaching, supervision, examinations, and attendance at statutory meetings are suspended pending further directives from the national body.
The decision was taken because the Federal Government has failed to honour agreements and commitments made with ASUU regarding the welfare of academic staff and the conditions of the Nigerian university system.
ASUU Dutse appeals for the understanding and solidarity of academic staff and students, as the action is undertaken to push for better funding, welfare, and improved conditions for teaching, learning, and research.
All academic staff are urged to strictly comply with the strike directive. Students are advised to remain calm and await further communication as the situation evolves.
Yours in solidarity,
Dr. Salim Ahmad
Branch Chairperson, ASUU Federal University Dutse
