The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has officially announced the commencement of its online admission screening exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session. The screening is open to suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into the university through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 100-level entry, as well as through Direct Entry (DE).
The exercise, which is fully online, is a mandatory requirement for all candidates seeking admission into LASU for the upcoming academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
According to the university’s guidelines, only candidates who meet the following criteria are eligible to participate in the screening exercise:
1. UTME Candidates:
Must have chosen LASU as their first choice of institution in the 2025 UTME.
Must have scored a minimum of 195 marks.
Must be at least 16 years old by 1st October, 2025.
2. Pre-Degree Students (PDS):
Must have successfully completed the LASU PDS programme.
Must have scored at least 195 in the 2025 UTME and chosen LASU as their first choice.
3. Direct Entry (DE) Candidates:
Must have obtained a valid JAMB Direct Entry Form.
Must have selected LASU as their first choice.
Only LASU Diploma results and NCE results (for Faculty of Education programmes) are accepted for DE admissions.
4. Indigeneship Candidates:
Candidates claiming Lagos State indigeneship must have previously appeared before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) of the university. Validated claims will be automatically applied during the screening.
Available Programmes
Only courses officially accredited for the 2025/2026 academic session will be available for selection. Candidates are strongly advised to confirm their desired course’s availability and requirements before applying.
Application Procedure
Prospective candidates are to follow these steps:
1. Visit the LASU website via www.lasu.edu.ng.
2. Navigate to Student > New Applicants > UTME/DE Screening.
3. Log in using UTME Registration Number and Surname.
4. Proceed to make payment for the Admission Screening Fee by selecting appropriate options:

5. After payment, return to the dashboard and begin the online screening process.
Required Documents
UTME Result Slip (PDF, not more than 30KB)
O’Level Result Slip(s) – maximum of two sittings (PDF, not more than 30KB)
DE candidates must submit their Screening Report and Notification of Result at the LASU Admission Annex (Room 7, Admin Block II).
All candidates are expected to provide accurate personal details, including their O’Level subjects and grades. Only five best relevant subjects will be used for screening, in accordance with the 2025 JAMB Brochure guidelines.
> Note: Candidates seeking admission into Medicine and Dentistry must present O’Level results from only one sitting. Engineering aspirants using two sittings must present six credit passes, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and two other science-related subjects. Aeronautic Engineering specifically requires a credit in Further Mathematics.
Screening Format
The admission screening will be automatically graded using a point-based system, calculated from the candidate’s UTME score and relevant O’Level grades.
Candidates are required to preview and confirm their submitted information before final submission. Once submitted, screening outcomes are considered final and no changes will be allowed except through a fresh screening payment.
Duration and Deadline
The registration and payment portal will remain open for twenty-seven (27) days:
From Monday, 30th June 2025 to Saturday, 26th July 2025 (12 midnight).
